Happy Fall!
Just checking in on all of you to see how the weather is treating you!
Fall is a great time to get out and move your body. The weather is cool and crisp, but not too cold to not enjoy yourself.
It's also a time where we tend to get into hibernation mode. Eat fuller heavier meals and tend to enjoy curling up on the couch and enjoying some T.V. or a good book. This all is good but remember, watching what you eat in the fall and winter too! Food fuels our body, and effects our mood. As the days get shorter and the darkness is longer some of us will start to see a shift in our mood. Stay tuned for more ways to naturally manage seasonal affective disorder, sleep disturbances, low energy, increased joint pain as the time of the year is dry, cooler and darker!
My favorite winter recipes are those that are full of nutrients. I too love a good crockpot/instapot dish, but I also love a good dish full of sweet potatoes, lentils, pistachios, brussel sprouts, grilled or oven baked salmon toped with some micro greens. Power bowls are hardy, packed with nutrition and I change it up by added some minor finishing touches to change up the entire taste- adding chopped up apricots, dates, asparagus, pickled onions, fresh apples- you can make the base items in bulk and add different finishing touches throughout each bowel to make the flavor change. Super easy!
